Spectrum Magazine

As the Creative Director for Spectrum Literary Arts Magazine, I led the creative and art direction, design, and production for 3 magazines, along with photoshoots, marketing material, and all other creative outputs of the organization. I initiated a brand expansion strategy that included the establishment of consistent brand guidelines for print and digital as well as a comprehensive website redesign. Spectrum Magazine received the award of “Superior” in the REALM Competition for our excellence in creativity.

This magazine is a haven for those who seek to immerse themselves in the joys of the summer season through prose, poetry, art, and photography. Through the careful curation of our submissions, Idyllic transports readers to a place where the beauty of nature and simplicity reign supreme. Our featured poetry and prose encapsulate the rush of summer adventure, love, freedom, reflection, and more. Similarly, our featured art and photography capture the fleeting moments that define summer and serve as a window to the soul of the season. With every turn of the page, Idyllic invites readers to slow down and savor every moment of summer.

Brand Expansion

During my time as Creative Director, I led a brand expansion and defined consistent brand guidelines across both our print and digital platforms. The updated brand stays true to Spectrum’s defining elements and history while allowing for more flexibility and scalability as the organization itself expands.

Website Redesign

Another initiative as Creative Director was to redesign Spectrum’s website. Together with Charles Madden (Spectrum President + Designer), we ideated, created a site-map, designed mid-fidelity wireframes, and built the final output on the site’s hosting platform. Along with improving the visual design, our main goals with the redesign were to restructure the organization of content, make the submission process more user-friendly, and amplify our community and their creative talent.
